My Own Journey Back to Spirituality
A personal story of moving from fear and overthinking into a more heart-based, spiritually grounded way of living.
How I found my way to spirituality
Growing up in a non-religious household, my path began with a simple, quiet belief in a single Supreme consciousness. This curiosity led me to study psychology, eventually becoming a subject matter expert and working as a spiritual hypnotherapist. However, life took a turn when I moved to Australia and climbed the corporate ladder into leadership roles. In the midst of that success, I realized my soul missed “the familiarity of the unknown.” I craved a deeper purpose beyond the corporate structure—a space for creativity, intuition, and those small miracles that make life truly meaningful.
What spirituality means to me now
My understanding has shifted from ego-based to heart-based consciousness. For me, spirituality is about living in harmony, love, kindness, and purpose. I’ve observed that some Western practices can fall into cultural appropriation of ancient Indian wisdom; I encourage others to use discernment and take only what truly resonates. Ultimately, spirituality is a personal dialogue: “if you believe, so shall you receive.”
The small habits that changed everything
Morning Pranayama & OM Chanting
A simple 5-minute practice of watching my thoughts like a movie and returning to the breath. No need for the strict 4am club—just a gentle moment of presence to start the day.
Intentional Journaling
Moving from manifesting material desires to feeling deep gratitude and contentment. On simpler days, I might only write God’s name, finding peace in that small act.
Yoga & Grounded Movement
Surya Namaskar, Chandra Namaskar, and full-body movement. These practices help me feel healthy, centered, and physically grounded in my reality.
Lifestyle Shifts & Throat Chakra Healing
Simple changes like warm water healed chronic tonsillitis, which I linked to a blocked throat chakra. I learned to speak my truth, growing from shy and silent into a kind but firm executive leader.
Studying the Bhagavad Gita
Reading slowly, just one page a day. It serves as an ongoing source of deep insight and introspection on my journey back to myself.
Finding your own way back
We are all born spiritual and simply find our way back in our own time. I invite you to start with one small habit that resonates—be it breath, journaling, movement, or study. There is no single right way; spirituality is deeply personal.
